i was thinking of Labrador Park and the beautiful seaview when my class when there for our learning journey yesterday (:
it was really picturesque. the rocks, the vast expanse of the blue sea, and the white sea foam crashing gently against the rocks. i was standing at the "pier" , with the sea breeze blowing in and i could feel the soft touch of the wind on my face. i loved it.
anyway, this isn't something people expect, but i actually do read about politics in the papers. i don't know, i just feel that there's a need to know all these stuffs so next time people talk about the French president i wouldn't be thinking of Chirac but Sarkozy, or that Tony Blair will step down on 27th June. and according to Newsweek, Angela Merkel will be the new European superleader. Bush has this veto thingey with his Senate on the Iraq war funds. Indonesian president SBY has declared a major overhaul of his cabinet, with around 5 ministers getting replaced. former Malaysian PM Mahathir criticised PM Abdullah again (is he ever gonna be tired of it?)
i do give my views on certain countries' leaders and policies of course, but i shan't divulge too much on it cos no matter what, they deserve respect.
also, i watched Windtalkers on Ch 5 just now. the flick starring Nicholas Cage was good. it was kinda sad when he died in the end after saving his friend, but the overall story was fantastic.
you know, i admit that i do like watching these war movies. band of brothers, saving private ryan, thin red line, flags of our fathers, windtalkers, pearl harbour, letters from iwojima, the wind that shakes the barley, brotherhood, the pianist.. aside from the fact that it shows how wars change the lives of people drastically, it also portrayed something that i know i'll treasure forever: comradeship. i know that sounds weird coming from a girl and it just doesn't suit the context of a girls' school, but seriously, i will treasure that a lot. the feeling of confidence that your friends will always be there to back you, to support you no matter what happens. maybe i'm only feeling this way because this was what i had back in primary school, from my class, my level and my friends.
so since exams are over, and the football season will be over soon as well, i have planned to devote my time to movies. i don't know, maybe i'll rent flags of our fathers, letter from iwojima, night at the museum.. watch some p ramlee flicks.. buy karen kong's debut album, Mulakan.. go shopping.. go makan places-hunting.. go library and borrow a book..
sheesh. i sound so bored.
