you know how weird is it that the person who caused you to cry and be emo, at the same time brings back the smile on your face, makes you laugh, cheers you up? and sometimes it's like you want to laugh and cry at the same time until you don't really know what to do. but then half the time you're glad the person entered your life, because it totally changed everything. well, not everything, but it does change your life a bit. and put you right smack in a dilemma which you shouldn't even be in in the first place. but anyhow, there are some stuffs that you understand and comprehend out of this whole complicated thing. you discover the person really matters to you and you really care about the person. you accept the person for who the person is, mindful of the flaws though. and with every passing day you learn something more about the person, and you almost quite can't believe some stuffs (in a positive way). it all sounds a bit crazy most of the time, and you just don't quite understand the whole thing. but despite all the rollercoaster of emotions, one good thing comes out of it: it makes you feel complete. even if not fully, mostly complete (:

"oh inikah rasanya cinta
oh inikah cinta
terasa bahagia saat jumpa
dengan dirinya"
- Inikah Cinta by Sheila Majid

and this has been my new favourite song (:

You Are Everything by Gareth Gates and Rachel Stevens

Oh darling
I want to be everything to you

Today I saw somebody
Who looked just like you
He walked like you do
I thought it was you
As he turned the corner
I called out your name
I felt so ashamed
When it wasn't you
Wasn't you

You are everything
And everything is you
Oh, you are everything
And everything is you
'Cause you are everything
And everything is you

How can I forget
When each face that I see
Brings back memories
Of being with you
Oohh darlin...
I just can't go on
Living life as I do
Comparing each girl with you
Knowing they just won't do
They're not you

'Cause you are everything
And everything is you
Oh, you are everything
And everything is you
You are everything
And everything is you

Oh you are everything to me
You are everything to me

~ you are everything to me, cos you are everything i ever asked for.
there's a saying, when you can't have someone you love, it should be written in the stars and expressed in the clouds.
i know it's not going anywhere, but i have no regrets.~

my life is fecked up right now. and you know what? i might as well stay up all night to finish my homework. which will be quite stupid cos i'll be half-asleep in school tomorrow and worse, i'll come in with eyebags and stuffs. and let me see... absolute devoid of rest for the whole week (yes, i haven't had enough rest or sleep) and lack of time to even eat a decent lunch (recess is like tea-time, man..) plus a sleepless night and no breakfast and no appetite again...

can i just like faint?

i felt totally flat today. to put it simply, exhausted, beat, shacked.
less than 4 hours of sleep, no coffee in the morning, and not even a proper lunch.
and it's just the 3rd day of school.

~i saw you, and everything else just seems to be ok
i heard your voice, and nothing else matters~

It happens everytime
When I see you
It happens everytime
When I think of you
It happens everytime
Oh it's magic when we meet
Baby down on dreamstreet

~ It Happens Everytime by Gareth Gates

PS: excited about gareth's new album, Pictures of the Other Side!!

yesterday i tested my smokey spark eyeshadow and honeywood blusher, so the results:

so basically what i used is..

Silky Girl products:
Lightening pressed powder in natural
duo eyeshadow in smokey spark
blusher in honeywood
lip gloss in vintage rose
funky eyelights in frosty silver

Maybelline products:
Unstoppable mascara (used with Jeu eyelash curler)

i know you can't really see the effects of Unstoppable, but when i applied it after i curled my lashes, it's like as if i achieved my dream lashes. haha. but to get the best effect, i should have used Unstoppable in shiny black.

and the best part, it took me only 15 minutes to achieve that!

before i bid adieu to the school holidays and say hola to the new term, let me just say that the hols were refreshing, although too short to complete my homework with the amount of stuffs listed on my to-do list. OBS was an eye-opener, met some great people esp my watch Hillary and i learned to be more flexible with my surroundings. also, i had some shopping done and all i'm lacking is a set of make-up brushes. and i met up with old friends, and keeping my friendships as alive as possible. it was a great june holiday (:

actually, i'm waiting for my hp to be fully charged so i can listen to it to sleep. and think and hopefully, dream of nice stuffs (:

and tomorrow i shall try my new fragrance: Cassis Rose. can pair it up with my Intimately Beckham body spray (:

came across this interesting post in flowerpod forum (thanks foxfoo for the contribution!)

Love vs other traits

All you people who say, "I love you" when you have no clue what love is exactly! What is love? When we claim that it's love that we have for someone, are we correct? Something to ponder upon...

are your palms sweaty, is your heart racing and is your voice caught within your chest?
it isn't love, it's like.
You can't keep your eyes or hands off of them, am I right?
It isn't love, it's lust.
Are you proud, and eager to show them off?
It isn't love, it's luck.
Do you want them because you know they're there?
It isn't love, it's loneliness.
Are you there because it's what everyone wants?
It isn't love, it's loyalty.
Are you there because they kissed you, or held your hand?
It isn't love, it's low confidence.
Do you stay for their confessions of love, because you don't want to hurt them?
It isn't love, it's pity.
Do you belong to them because their sight makes your heart skip a beat?
It isn't love, it's infatuation.
Do you pardon their faults because you care about them?
It isn't love, it's friendship.
Do you tell them every day they are the only one you think of?
It isn't love, it's a lie.
are you willing to give all of your favorite things for their sake?
It isn't love, it's charity.

Does your heart ache and break when they're sad?
then it's love.
Do you cry for their pain, even when they're strong?
Then it's love.
Do their eyes see your true heart, and touch your soul so deeply it hurts?
Then it's love.
Do you stay because a blinding, incomprehensible mix of pain and relation pulls you close and holds you there?
Then it's love.
Do you accept their faults because they're a part of who they are?
Then it's love.
Are you attracted to others, but stay with them faithfully without regret?
Then it's love.
Would you allow them to leave you , not because they want to but because they have to?
Then its love.
Would you give them your heart, your life, your death?
Then it's love.

Now, if love is painful, and tortures us so, why do we love? Why is it all we search for in life? This pain, this agony? Why is it all we long for? This torture, this powerful death of self? Why? The answer is so simple cause it's...LOVE.

now i know what my feelings are for him..

i finally bought my blusher today! silky girl's honeywood. i was torn between that and nectar blush, but i decided that for now i shall go for the peach look since it'll look more natural (:

and just now i was reading through RedCafe.net after a loongg time, and i came across this thread: who is the most complete player? the threadstarter named Andrea Pirlo. i wanted to laugh. sure, Pirlo is a great passer. heck, his passes are always beautiful. but complete? i don't think so. i was thinking more of steven gerrard and sure enough, the following replies stated gerrard, essien and roy keane as the obvious answers.

now, why gerrard? again, obvious. he's exhibited so many times that he's there when liverpool needs him. right attacking midfield, center midfield.. even in this roles, he exerts a lot of influence in a game. he tracks back to help the defence if needed, he contributes in attacks, he splits open defences with those delirious 30-yarders sometimes. it's like, if he's there, liverpool can feel safe. just watch those matches when liverpool were like sitting ducks. gerrard just came and bulldozed the lousy moments away. like the 2005 champions league finals. witness how gerrard almost single-handedly brought liverpool back from the dead. class.

i bet man utd had rued in some moment or another that we didn't get michael essien. yes, essien, that chelsea player who gave United related answers when he did some interview in the summer that he signed on to chelsea from lyon. "who's your favourite player?" "Cantona." "Where's your favourite stadium?" "Old Trafford". "Hardest opponent?" "Paul Scholes." see? he's a man utd fan stuck in a chelsea jersey.

to be honest, i'm missing the football season a lot. so imagine how i felt when there was a thread to recollect all the 06/07 Footballing Beauty. and i got the chance to see this - again:

i love that goal! notice how rooney gathers the ball and calmly flicks the ball into the net. and note how david james was rooted there, mesmerised as the ball gently slopes into the net in one smooth move. so elegant.

but this was my fave goal for some time:

scholesy's goal speaks it all.

and the grandest of it all.. i'll never tire of this just like i'll never tire of '99 champs league finals:

i think i shall stop taking up so much blogspace about united. but i can't help it; i totally love them.

the holidays are ending and i still haven't started on my English homework - AT ALL.
and i have Islamic history to cram for this sunday's exam, and i have to settle all the rest of my homework by next week. ~arghh! the only ones that ive settled is chemistry and add maths. i still have English to start on, Social Studies to do, history to read, bio to do and e maths to complete. sheesh. what a holiday. yay.

going out with Humaira and Diyanah tomorrow. girls' day out to makan at Orchard (:
haha.. can't wait.. i have 2 outfits in my mind to choose from, and the respective makeup. either a black-white outfit with smoky look or pink victorian blouse with smoky pink-brown combo. love both, actually. haha.

but i need to run down to JL to get eyeliner cos my eyeliner keeps breaking until there's only 0.5 cm left. and that's all i have for tomorrow at home. sighs. imagine, run down to JL with half-done makeup, rush off to washroom, apply eyeliner and off to orchard. so not adriana lima-like glam.

and recently i've been a fan of adriana lima and gisele bundchen. seriously. especially adriana lima. they're just so pretty lahh...

me and my ever-growing collection of watches:

again, bad lighting and bad photography skills. but you can see all the watches.. haha.. and that's only half. the other half are stashed away somewhere in my drawer, too lazy to take them out. my latest acquisitions are the black one on the right and the blue one next to it. the pink one and the white one were bought a one or two months back.

the trouble with me is, i have a weakness for watches more than anything else. i'll pass by a watch shop and i can stand there gazing at the watches. if they're affordable, i'll try them on.

i don't know.. i need to have a watch on my wrist. perhaps to give me sense of time. gives me a deeper feeling of security. so that's why if you take my left wrist you'll see a white swatch on it.

managed to acquire the shimmery, smoky look for my eye using just 2 eyeshadow colours and a silver eyeliner. will upload the shots once i can get a nice pic of it.

reached singapore and saw him...

I Turn To You by Christina Aguilera

When I'm lost in the rain,
In your eyes I know I'll find the light
To light my way.
And when I'm scared,
And losing ground,
When my world is going crazy,
You can turn it all around.
And when I'm down you're there- pushing me to the top.
You're always there,giving me all you've got.

(Chorus)
For a shield from the storm,
For a friend, for a love
to keep me safe and warm
I turn to you.
For the strength to be strong,
For the will to carry on
For everything you do,
for everything that's true
I turn to you.

When I lose the will to win,
I just reach for you and
I can reach the sky again.
I can do anything
'Cause your love is so amazing,
'Cause your love inspires me.
And when I need a friend,
You're always on my side
Giving me faith
taking me through the night

(Chorus)

For the arms to be my shelter
through all the rain,
For truth that will never change,
For someone to lean on,
For a heart I can rely on through anything,
For that one who I can run to...

(Chorus)
(Chorus)

I turn to you...

back from OBS! yayy!!! (ok, i think i'm influenced by bouncy)
oh wells. sorta enjoyed myself with my watch mates (i <3 Hillary '07) doing all sorts of crazy stuffs from tent-pitching to kayaking to prepping dinner. so chaotic. haha.

to Hillary '07: let's stay in touch, okay? 5 days spent bonded us like no other. love you guys!!

going off to Pulau Ubin for OBS tomorrow. i'm excited, nervous and hoping to fall sick at the same time. imagine, 5 days tucked away in some ulu island with no handphone or mp3 for accompaniment. and oh yeah, no proper accommodation. not even a kampung house. how the heck am i gonna survive?

but i think i will. no handphone, no mp3. fine, i'll sing. maybe i'll sneak in my handphone if possible. haha.. and for other form of entertainment, that's why the mascara, mirror, pressed powder and funky eyeliner come in handy. seriously. i'll look awake. hmm... how about a nail buffer? hahaha...

strawberry yoghurt facial mask goodness (:
nothing beats it. except for Garnier's white infusion mask.. haha.. but then, the latter is rather pricey. $4.90 each (or if you're lucky, there's a sale and it goes for $2.95) compared to watson's strawberry yoghurt mask 15ml x 6 pack at $6.90. but then, one's for deep cleansing and moisturising, the other one is for whitening (:

and this combo = healthy, glowing skin! no, wait.. this combo = healthy glowing skin:

DAY:
- Olay daily facial cleanser (oily/combination skin)
- L'Oreal HydraFresh eye serum
- Fair & Lovely whitening facial cream

products amount to approx. $30 (with the splurge being on the eye serum.. lol..)

NIGHT:
- Olay daily facial cleanser
- Watson's Strawberry and Yoghurt facial mask (1-2 times a week)

products amount to approx. $13.80

hahaha... i never leave the house without F&L cream. been using it for a few years now (since 2003, i think), and there have been results. and it's also cheap, so that's why i'm carrying on with it.

i've picked up a new short-term ambition: to learn to play the guitar. and my teacher is none other than my brother (:
seriously. i'm learning to play the guitar from him. so far, he's taught me the basic chords and the first eight chords of Green Day's Holiday guitar solo. the guitar solo stuck in my head; the basic chords didn't. what a way to learn an instrument.

i've packed my bags for OBS next monday. somehow dreading it. 5 days in pulau ubin with absolutely nothing much to call for luxury. and handphones are not allowed. and only 2-3 days where we'll be allowed to bathe. sheeeesh. never mind, it's just 5 days. then when i get back to singapore, i'll have reasons to do a lot of things such as:
- sleep in
- go shopping for cosmetics, watches, bags and shoes
- self-pamper myself for a day, including nail-buffing, putting on full make-up, dressing up, put on a facial mask, buy a new CD, buy some magazine and watch TV to my heart's content

so now i have reasons to look forward to OBS (:

i was in an okay mood in the early part of the evening. had fun watching maybelline vids and a pamela anderson curls how-to by pursebuzz on her website (check her link at the side). the maybelline vids are basic how-tos by top make-up artiste troy surrat, and i love the way he creates the looks. so simple yet so effective. and pursebuzz's latest vid was a bit long, but it was worthwhile to be able to see how she achieves pam anderson's locks. it's so cool. as in, it looks so glam and flirty at the same time. but then i'll need a curling iron and those old-fashioned plastic curlers. and a lot of time to spare. which i don't have.

and then my mood just slips away to moodless. like right now. i am no longer in the mood to hunt for cheap, quality make-up brushes or pigmented eyeshadows for that matter. and the fire to learn to play the guitar just died out. yay.

i came across this phrase/proverb/saying in one of my dad's books:
if we don't own something/someone we love, it should be expressed in the stars and written in the clouds.

how so very true. but does it matter anymore?

11:56 pm

they say life's uncertain and full of unknown possibilities. but one thing's certain: i suck at chemistry. really really suck at it. i can understand and retain the info for the day, then totally get lost in it the next. i don't even know how i managed to scrimp a pass for my mid-years. i totally suck in it. serious. i was stuck for 2 hours trying to do my workbook chapter on redox. 2 hours! and gave up on wanting to start on bonding. so enough said: i suck at chem.

finished reading Jennifer Government. planning to start on The Second Horseman by Kyle Mills (which is something a la the Bourne series) and finish up Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan (which is a kiddie story.. a kiddie story that i enjoy reading a lot and expose me to greek mythology).

anyway, as i mentioned before, Jennifer Government deals with the issue of globalization. now, i'm not against the idea; it's already happening. but what happens when the East tries too much to be like the West until all the Eastern values are scraped away just like that? yes, we're living in the modern world, where technology is accelarating at full speed. but us in the East should be integrating these stuffs into our lives, not converting to them. this trend is rather worrying..

as motivational books go, most of us teens tend to dismiss them. i admit, sometimes i do. you know books like Rich Dad,Poor Dad , those sort of stuffs adults seem to love? i tried reading it and it doesn't really cut it for me. but a year back (and i wonder why it took me so long to blog about it), my parents gave me a book: A Guide For Teens: The 6 Most Important Decisions You'll Ever Make by Sean Covey. guess what? it ain't boring. in fact, i like reading it. the language is informal and the tone is rather humorous, and there's stupid cartoons to make you laugh. but most importantly, the content is there, and it's great. of course, application may take some time, but still, there's the motivation...

and i have decided to plunk in my Maybelline Unstoppable mascara into my bag for OBS at pulau ubin. that's the simplest, safest and my most trusted make-up around. you can never go wrong with a mascara.

and i love Sheila Majid's voice. it sounds so perfect with almost any song she sings. she's truly Asia's Queen of Jazz. respect her for that!

and i downloaded a few vids from maybelline new york's website on make-up application. i wish i can get a bronzer. the bronzed look is so in right now. sighs..

cinta jangan kau pergi, tinggalkan diriku sendiri..
love please don't go, leaving me here all alone..

almost finished reading Jennifer Government by Max Barry. it's a hilarious satirical book on globalisation and marketing, with the logic being stupid to some extent. in the book, the world is run by major USA companies, and some countries are USA-ed, like Australia. and apparently these bunch of nations are against the EU nations, yet still have friendly ties. and your surnames follow your company's name. so if your name is Mariah and you work for L'Oreal, your name will be Mariah L'Oreal. or if your name is Jack and you work for Nike, your name will be Jack Nike. and if your name is Steve and you work for the government, be prepared to be named Steve Government. and this is just the names.. haha.. the storyline is stupid yet interesting (: i've only about 30 pages left to finish it.. haha..

saw this vid while doing my usual surfing on pursebuzz.com. it demos how to achieve the retro pouf ponytail look, which i find incredibly cute.. check it out:

i shall go and try that out on my hair, now that i have a L'Oreal anti-frizz hair serum and also a Pantene Pro-V silky straight leave-on conditioner - i can choose from either one. and i don't really need a curling tong cos my hair is already like that.. haha.. thanks pursebuzz! love ya loads!

i reallllyyyy reallllyyyy want the Silky Girl Copper Dust eyeshadow and Metallic Bronze liner. i have this golden-brown look thought up, and all i'm lacking are THOSE and a few quality eyeshadow brushes. otherwise, i'd have given my eyes the bronze they're dying for..

and i finally finished my ASEAN Humanities prep. ~phew!! i completed the powerpoint slides 15 minutes ago, and i've never felt so relieved. the report can wait (:

12:49 am

let's see a revamp of my list of wants:
- Intimately Beckham for Women EDT 15ml @ $19
- Poccilini bag (there's a new collection at JL CWP!) @ $20
- eyeshadow brushes (slanted, angled.. either from Body Shop or MAC.. but both are expensive..) from $14.90
- L'Oreal Touche Magique or Za Perfect Concealer from $11.90
- SilkyGirl eyeshadow in Copper Dust + Funky Eyeliner in Metallic Bronze @ $11.80 total (offer price!)

and reviews!!! this time, it's Garnier Light Whitening Infusion Tissue Mask (:
(i got it for a buy 1 get 1 free deal at my favourite shop in the entire world, Watson's)

if you haven't try it, now's a good time to try it. cos it's amazing! 10-15 minutes of relaxing with that mask on your face, remove it and you'll be able to feel the wonders (: it really leaves your skin feeling soft and supple, and to some extent, slightly fair. plus the nice smell of lemon perks you up and ensures an invigorating and refreshing self-pampering session. great for those who wants instant pigmentation reduction after feeling you're darkened by the sun et al.

most effective if frequently used. if you're a bit kiasu, use it everyday for 5 days to achieve maximum results.

priced at $4.90 each (normal price) and $12.90 for a box of 3.

with the amount of food i'm eating now, i'm seriously thinking of starting on cardio. but then, everytime i say i want to start on it, i'll just postpone it to god-knows-when and never get it done. like today. was planning for cardio in the morning. ended up giving it a miss.

or maybe i should just go heck care with cardio and do steppers and climb up and down the stairs. but the thought of jogging on the spot is more appealing than the stairs.

perhaps i should just ditch the whole idea and turn to... GRAPEFRUIT.
yup.. that huge, sour cousin of the famous orange. i read somewhere on the net that it aids in weight loss, and also the burning of fats. one podder from flowerpod community website tried drinking the juice for 21 days now and she lost around 5kg. the trick? buy grapefruit, juice it, and drink it before a heavy meal. it contains an enzyme that speeds up the burning of fats. and it's full of nutrients: beta-carotene, vitamin C, can also reduce cholestrol level..
so in short, tons of goodness stored in one fruit (: and if you can't get yourself to eat the fruit, what the heck, get the juice!
and also, pomegranate also have some same sort of effect.

so you know there's a new product by a fruit juice company that combines pomegranate and cranberries? i have a suggestion for the company: how about combining pomegrante and grapefruit? it'll be an ultimate best-seller! :D

~whoo.. suddenly my terrible, broken spanish manage to find itself connected in 1 perfect sentence (: and no, it's not just te amo or te quiero.. what it is.. well.. haha... ain't telling you (: but it starts with mi amiga chula, yo soy (can go and complete the sentence on your own)

i've been listening to Terpesona by Glenn Fredly feat Audy on loop on my iTunes. i LOVE that song. really really really love it to bits. that song really really strikes a chord in my heart. especially the chorus:

(in Malay)
terpesona ku pada pandangan pertama
dah tak kuasa menahan rinduku
senyumanmu slalu menghiasi mimpiku
inginku peluk dan ku kecup keningmu

(translation in English)
i was enchanted at first look
i can no longer deny that i miss you
your smile always light up my dreams
how i long to hug and kiss you

uhh..okayy.. direct translation, so it sounds so sucky in english. but seriously, if you understand it in the malay context, it's really really really sweet (:
